Nokia to block unauthorised access to firmware images

Masamang balita sa mga mahilig gumamit ng navifirm at mag-flash ng phone nila. Ayon sa isang pahayag ipapasara na ng nokia ang mga servers na nagbibigay ng libreng access sa mga firmware files para sa mga symbian phones. By the end of January 2013 according dun sa article hindi na ma-a-access ang mga servers na ito kung san natn kinukuha ang mga firmwares naten.

Payo ko sa mga techies dyan na nagfaflash at gumagawa ng cfw's o simpleng nag rereprogram lang ng mga nokia units nyo magdownload na kayo ng back-up ng firmware nyo in case masira o magloko ang unit nyo para hindi kayo maabutan nang pagsasara ng servers.

share ko lang ang info na ito. Nabasa ko lang din ito sa DM forum.

Wew, masamang balita nga yan.. Malaking file din yan more or less 50mb kada firmware.. Kung idodownload mo lahat2x ng mga files mula sa navifirm need ng maraming space.

@all, oo nga eh. malaking tulong talaga yan lalo sa mga techs. Ewan ko ba, paranoid kasi yung management ng Nokia sa pamumuno ni Elop.


Ako ngayon nagdodownload na ko ng firmware ng belle phones namen dito. hehe. mahirap na pag nangyari na yan wala na ko pagkukunan pag nadead ang phone ko.

Kaya cguro nila ginawa to para makagawa sila ng bagong generation ng mga phone ( ex: Android Os and Symbian 3 Os )

lalo na silang iiwanan ng mga developer,  8yrs symbian fan ako from s60 v1 to belle fp2 , kakaalis ko lang last december,
