My Healthy Habits
Habits don't have to be bad. You can have some habits that can help your body and well-being. As for me, i have my personal healthy habits to stay fit and be happy. I want to share this with you and i hope these could become your habits too. Here it is,
1. Get Busy. Getting busy means working. No matter what your job is, as long as your mind and body will be busy, it is fine. For me,the whole point of getting a job aside from the financial aspect is to get self-esteem and some sense of belongingness. When you belong to a certain industry, it gives you some confidence knowing that you can be categorized according to your job. So, if you're not doing anything now, then go out or surf the net and get a job!
2. Eat Right. Eating veggies and fruits could save you from a major disease like cancer. This would be quite difficult for those who are not used of eating greens. But if you value your body and your life, then getting a plate with carrots, broccoli, cucumber and bell pepper would be easy. Forget about the hamburger, fries, donuts and cola. Do you know that they are in the top place for the worst food list? And do you know that those food are the main culprits of some illnesses like colon cancer? If you want to live longer and with a healthy body, then start loving the veggies that you usually left in your plate.
3. Exercise. Don't fret my friend. When i say exercise, you don't have to follow those exercise videos in youtube to get abs or to lose weight. Because the main goal here is to only make every part of your body functions well especially the blood flow. So,instead of making 100 jumping jacks, you can try to walk or run for at least 30 minutes. Make sure though that you will perspire.
4. Get Enough Sleep. "Sleep is one of the most important function our body uses to regulate and heal cells," says Ferrucci. Who Ferrucci is? I don't know either. Kidding aside, Piero Ferrucci is a psychotherapist, a philosopher and is the author of several books about psychotherapy. According to him, our body needs 6 hours to get healed naturally. Well, this is just a bonus for us since we sleep not just because we want to sleep but because our body has a limit! But still, it is proven that if we get enough shut-eye, we feel better in the morning and our precious body is at it's best condition.
5. Have Some Lemon. Starting your day with lemon and water can give you wonderful benefits. One of them is boosting your energy. Most people would choose to have coffee in the morning but they didn't know that those caffeinated beverages contains adrenal stimulants that could give dirty energy that can cause mood swings and stress. If you have office mates or friends who are always in the bad mood, try to tell them this. If you get punched though because of this suggestion, well Im sorry.
6. Socialize. Go out with your friends every Friday. That's right. TGIF is good for your health too. Well, it doesn't really have to be Friday. You can hang out anytime you want. But before you leave your house, remember to put a HUGE reminder in your brain that alcohol and drugs won't give you any good benefits. But you can have at least a glass or two of beer to avoid being called a wet blanket.
7. Laugh a Lot. This tip may sound crazy but laughter is truly beneficial to your health. This is a good facial exercise and can relieve stress too. And don't deny it, you feel good after a good laugh. You feel better and lighter when you laugh with your family and friends. The reason i guess is because when you laugh with them, you feel closer and you know you're creating good memories. So, when you feel like laughing, do it even if you're alone.
8. Use Dental Floss. Don't raise your eyebrows, my friend. Yes, this is a healthy habit. Sounds unbelievable? Google it if you want. But using dental floss after brushing your teeth can keep your arteries healthy. By doing this, you can avoid bacteria that can cause gum disease that can enter bloodstream and could trigger inflammation in the arteries that is known to be a major factor in heart disease. I'm 90% sure i convinced you to use this hygienic product now.
9. Live like a Seventh Day Adventist. Out of the world habit? Nope.According to the study, Seventh Day Adventist people have an expectancy life of 89. The reason of this? Its because one of their beliefs is that our body is borrowed from God. That is why we have to cherish it. And aside from that they believe that the original diet for humans was a totally plant based vegetarian diet composed mainly of, fruits, nuts and grains. I truly salute them for these beliefs.
10. Have a lot of sex. I know. This is the best habit, right? This could be surprising but do you know that sex can boost immunity too? You might say wow, really? According to webmd.com sex can give our body some great health benefits. It can reduce stress, better blood pressure, burns calories, lessens pain, lowers the chance to have Prostate Cancer (for men) and making the pelvic muscles stronger for women.
If you can't always follow the 1-9 habits, im sure you can always do the last one easily. Good luck in getting healthy and fit!!!!
